After growing up in rural northern Ontario, Rachel connected with Sanctuary in 2003 when she moved to Toronto to study theology. The community quickly became an integral and beloved part of her life, and she joined the staff team in 2009.

She wrote her doctoral dissertation on the lived theology of Sanctuary, and feels called to ongoing theological reflection that is rooted in the beauty and heartbreak of the practices and struggles of our community’s life together.

She loves connecting with and learning from her friends in the community and spending time with kids Colman, Ashlyn, and Caleb.
